In Module 1, we ask you to think carefully about a very important question: the "why" question.
You may think you already know the answer, but to be sure, check out the Module this video and the Module 1 playbook.
College can be a bundle of distractions that draw your attention away from the real reasons you enrolled in the first place: to get an education and graduate. In this module you'll learn ways to focus first on the things that matter most.
Your freshman year can be an exciting experience, but it can also be a stressful one. In this module, you'll learn common-sense strategies and timely tactics for defeating stress before it defeats you.
Module 4 addresses time management head-on — not with vague advice about “using a planner,” but with practical skill-building and time-tested techniques that meet the specific demands of a college schedule.
Showing up. It sounds so simple, and it is. Bit it is also one of the most consequential habits you can develop. We’ll talk about what showing up really means in college, why it’s so easy not to do, and why the students who master it gain an almost unfair advantage.
In this module, we take a hard look at the lifestyle choices that derail freshman year more often than any academic challenge: sleep, nutrition, exercise, and the way physical health feeds (or undermines) every other goal you have.
Many students arrive at college with no framework for managing money, and some make decisions in their first semester that follow them for years. This module is about giving you the skills to avoid those mistakes.
The social pressures of college are real, and Module 8 addresses them honestly — exploring addiction, the psychology of bad habits, and the specific ways they tend to trap college students who weren’t paying attention.
Module 9 lifts your gaze up and out. Freshman year is not the finish line; it’s the first mile. This module helps you think strategically about what you’re building toward, so that the short-term decisions you make align with your longer-term vision.
Module 10 is about building the resilience to handle setbacks, disappointments, failures, and losses in ways that make you stronger rather than derailing you entirely.
Module 11 is the one that many students need most yet hear about least: the specific, avoidable catastrophes that have the potential to do permanent harm. We name them, explain why smart students fall into them, and show you exactly how to steer clear.
Finally, Module 12 brings it all together — a wrap-up that sends you onto campus not with the assurance that if you show up consistently, day after day, and do the work, you will be successful in college. And more importantly, you’ll have the tools to achieve your high-level goals long after you’ve earned your degree.
This personalized playbook is your opportunity to create a record of your thoughts now (while the course material is still front-of-mind), so you can review those ideas later.
The transition from high school to college is one of the most significant passages of your life. It deserves more than a shrug and a guess. Use this playbook to meet it with intention, with honesty, and with the kind of thoughtful preparation that prepares you for success.
